Wawang Lake Resort is a disgusting dump. The owners Tami and Terry and employees Jim and Cathy's service was below par. When we arrived we expected to find a small building, a cabin...what we found was a dirty run down mobile home. We walked in and found mold infested walls, water damaged ceilings that collapsed later in our stay, and a dead mouse behind the fridge. We told Jim about the mouse and he came to take it out and as he did he said "It's a fresh one, he's still warm". The mold later caused a member of our party to have trouble breathing. The package we paid for, included housekeeping. We arrived an hour and a half after our allowed check-in and were handed our sheets and towels. That was the end of housekeeping. We later launched our boat and were told if we wanted to use the dock there was a $15 charge per day. We had no major problems until Thursday when we hit a unmarked boulder that chipped our skeg so we went back to the "lodge" and asked for a milk carton to mark that rock for future safety not only for us, but for others as well. We were told Terry is the only one allowed to mark rocks, but never did and another boat hit the same boulder taking their motor out. On Friday afternoon we hit ANOTHER unmarked boulder cracking open our lower unit. Once we arrived back on shore, we went to report this to the office only to find the office is closed daily from 11 am-3 pm and closed at 7 pm for the day. Since our boat was not usable, we told the owners we would be leaving a day early and asked if we could use a rental boat free of charge for the rest of our stay. Jim showed us our boat and neglected to give us life jackets. We were also charged for a day of boat rental. When we went to pay Friday morning we asked for a discount due to the issues we experienced and were told no and were told we were lucky we weren't being charged for Saturday due to our early departure because that is not their normal practice. Our experience was less than satisfactory. We will never be back to this horrible excuse of a resort ever again and I hope you don't make the same mistake.
